I love Madison Blue! Beautiful cave system. Our goal was to go up
main line until we hit thirds then swing through the "Godzilla Room"
circuit on the way out. On the way in, Billy tied into the jump he
thought was for the Godzilla Room and followed some of the passage.
It got very tight very quick. This wasn't it. He pulled the spool
and we headed up main line. We got probably 1400-1500ft up and
turned. On the way back, Joe wanted to squeeze through the "Half
Hitch" bypass. Billy wasn't too happy. We let him go on ahead.
After Joe squoze through, Jay sent me forward so he could try it
and I would be there to pull him through if he needed it. He went
through pretty easily. We checked out another jump on the way
out that looked like it let to "Martz Sink". We got back to the
Godzilla Room jump (2 jumps) and took the "not so tight" passage.
Billy was low on gas so he waited on the main line while we went
in. Jay and I headed in. We saw lots of jumps and went way back.
I didn't remember all those jumps although the tunnel looked
familiar. We dropped into this big room (I think it was the
"Banana Room" and met Joe there coming from the other direction.
We turned and headed back thinking we were in the wrong tunnel.
Later, Joe told us that he was on the way out of the Godzilla
Room. Doh! When we got back to the cavern we goofed around.
There's really good flow there so Joe and Billy were silting
it up, watching the flow carry the silt out the Rabbit Hole.
After we exited, as usual, we played in the basin, floating
out the exit to the Withlacoochee River and jumping off the
platform into the basin. Lots of fun!
