[Memo]
This was day 1 of OW checkout dives for the WGW scouts. We discussed the skills on the surface, then dropped to the bottom. While on the surface, I explained that you should never have an uncontrolled ascent to the surface. As long as you have air in your tank, you can deal with *any* problem underwater. While doing the skills, Adam started choking on water. He signaled to me that he wanted to ascend. I quickly swam over to him and asked if he was okay. He started to go up, but stopped to communicate with me. Once he was able to tell me what the problem was, he was better and knelt back down to finish his skills. Very nice!

We completed the rest of the skills, popping up to the surface, discussing the next set of skills in between. Once we had completed all of the skills, we worked our way up, along the bottom, to where we could stand and make our exit.
